Task
Design and develop a production-ready, subscription-based AI assistant platform from concept to deployment - including the full user journey, payment integration, and multi-modal AI capabilities.
Cellesseon is a subscription-based AI platform that goes beyond simple chat. It empowers users to generate images, produce audio, upload and analyze files, and hold rich multi-turn conversations – all within a single, polished interface. The experience adapts seamlessly across devices and themes, with every interaction designed to feel immediate and intuitive.
Built entirely with Next.js 16, React 19, and TypeScript on the frontend, and backed by MongoDB, AWS S3, and OpenAI on the server side, the platform handles authentication through Clerk and payments through Stripe. From the free trial countdown to the premium tier, every feature reflects a deliberate SaaS architecture built for real users and real revenue.
The core challenge was orchestrating multiple AI capabilities – text, image, and audio generation – into a single, unified chat experience without exposing the underlying complexity. Each response type required distinct API handling, rendering logic, and error recovery, all flowing through one seamless conversation thread that stays responsive and readable.
Equally demanding was building a complete subscription lifecycle from scratch: secure authentication, tiered plan enforcement, Stripe checkout with webhook-driven fulfillment, and real-time plan status tracking including trial countdowns – all while ensuring the interface remains fast, accessible, and consistent across light and dark themes on every screen size.
Every layer was designed for separation and scale – isolated components, dedicated server actions, and a clean split between UI, logic, and data.
The architecture follows Next.js App Router conventions with route groups, CSS Modules, and a fully custom MUI theme system supporting both color schemes.
